That means it's getting a V8, right?

M260i L.

There shifting to a turbo 7 for the power of an 8, and the efficiency of a 6.

Only for the Chinese market.

/facepalm
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:26 |

Nope. Just means it will cost more...
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:30 |

Hopefully they do a M260Li with a twin turbo V12 soon. That seems like the only logical next step.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:31 |

And 230 is the new 228.
Not confusing, nope, not at all...

The badge delete option keeps getting more and more attractive.

Oh, right, I think I remember reading about this.
The 230i/330i/430i will get the new B48 four cylinder that currently powers the, uh...225i Active Tourer.
Definitely not confusing..

Engine bay will be so packed that BMW guarantees spark plugs and oil are a lifetime item for the car.

sauce, my friend?

That Active Tourer set off a bomb in the middle of their already ridiculous naming/numbering scheme...

7/4/14 UPDATE

Louder speakers and an increased price tag.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:47 |
|
No, it would have a twin-turbo 1.6L three-cylinder.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:47 |
|
So if one just settles with only buying M cars, you won't have to worry about this silliness!
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:47 |

Ha! Nice.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:49 |

Just wait. An M2.5 can't be that far off.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:50 |

Now that you've said it, it will likely happen.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:52 |

Huehuehue they already do for the plugs.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:54 |

The real question is when is the M925i gran coupe x-drive active-e convertible going to start production"
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:54 |
|
Welp there goes my chances of getting a f01 or a F10 that doesn't have rod knock or an oil change.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 16:55 |
|
Just pick one up with less than 100k miles. That's the recommended change interval for plugs and trans fluid.

SOON.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 17:01 |

Sorry.

The 228i, with its 2.0L engine, is becoming the 230i. The M235i, with its 3.0L engine, is becoming the M240i. It makes no sense, whatsoever.
45i = 4.4L V8 Turbo
40i = 4.4L V8
35i = 3.0L Turbo
30i = 3.0L NA
25i = 2.0L Turbo
20i = 2.0L NA (not really a thing, but whatever)

... xDrive.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 17:21 |

No, no it doesn't.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 17:28 |

2015 BMW 335i xDrive Gran Turismo M Sport.
That's the real name of a car, on the road today. Seriously.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 17:34 |
|
You take that back!
![]() 11/13/2014 at 17:36 |
|
The first number for the engine L, the 5 for if it's turbo'd. Makes sense, doesn't it?
![]() 11/13/2014 at 17:40 |

BMW no longer makes any NA engines, and both the 20i and 28i use 2.0L engines.
Pretty soon, the 330i will use a 2.0L engine... Madness!
